City snoopers rejoice – London’s
Open House returns, with more
than 800 private spaces opening
their doors to the architecturally
curious. This year’s theme is
social, and free walks and talks
will use this lens to discuss
everything from Instagram’s
influence to social housing. Run
by the charity Open City, it’s come
a long way from the inaugural
1992 event when four London
boroughs took part – to
encompass the capital and its
oft-overlooked infrastructure.
There’s an impressive roster of
new homes to view, including
Nimtim Architects’ Cork House
and a former gin distillery-
turned-house (pictured) by Open
