Gebrüder Thonet Vienna has pushed boundaries ever since 1819

and the brand continues to innovate today. For its debut headboard

collection, three studios interpreted its signature bentwood and woven

cane into characterful pieces that affix to the wall – GamFratesi’s

‘Rue’ (£2,114) features simple ellipses, ‘Yvette’ by Chiara Andreatti

( from £4,792, below) is graphic and fluid, while Storagemilano

created the perforated wood and metal ‘Ottow’ (£3,330). All centre

A TWIST ON THE NORM

Storage furniture is breaking free from rigid lines and walls to embrace

more fluid formats. Each of the ‘Amber’ modular pieces by Christophe

Delcourt for Minotti takes the form of a quarter, eighth or sixteenth

of a circle, and can stand alone, be grouped together to twist around

a room, or even mix with other collections (they work particularly

well with the brand’s ‘Daniels’ seating system). Their ‘Moka’-

coloured wenge bases are accented with dark metal tops and
