BOUND FOR GLORY
Get your architecture fix – and liven up your coffee table – with these hot-off-the-press titles

London’s Greenwich Peninsula has
welcomed the first section of The Tide,
which, when completed, will be a
five-kilometre-long elevated park.
Brought to life by US-based architects
Diller Scofidio + Renfro – the names
behind New York’s similar High Line
park – in collaboration with London-
based practice Neiheiser Argyros, the
stretch of walkway comprises a series
of raised platforms offering river
views. British landscape architects
Gross.Max created the gardens for
this initial stretch, focusing on native
wildflowers and grasses. Designed to
encourage visitors to slow down and
linger, The Tide will feature audio
meditation portals along the route,
as well as restaurants, an exercise
studio and artworks, including
sculptures by Damien Hirst and Allen
Jones (greenwichpeninsula.co.uk).
