The Animaltalk Top Dog 100 Ratings are hugely popular with

dog show enthusiasts, and the coveted title of Top Dog is

highly sought after. The winners will be honoured at the Top

Dog function which will be held in January 2020.

As always, the Top Dog, Top Bitch, Top SA-Bred Dog and

Group winners will all be individually recognised.

year’s Top 100 ratings. We have the
results of the first shows for you and
if you want to brush up on the rules, go to
http://www.animaltalk.co.za/top-dog. Here are the
calculations for how the Top Dog standings
are calculated.

Calculations
Number of dogs beaten will be calculated
as follows:

• Best in Show: Total number of dogs entered
  in breed section of catalogue, minus 1.


• Reserve Best in Show: Total number of dogs
  entered in breed section of catalogue, minus
  total number of dogs entered in Best in Show
  winner’s group, minus 1.


• Group 1st: Total number of dogs entered
  in relevant group, minus 1. In the event
  of a group winner going on to win Best in
  Show, or Reserve Best in Show, these points
  immediately fall away.
  
  
  • Group 2nd: Total number of dogs entered in
    relevant group, minus total number of dogs
    entered in group winner’s breed, minus 1.
  
  
  • Group 3rd: Total number of dogs entered in
    relevant group, minus total number of dogs
    entered in group winner’s breed and Group
    2nd’s breed, minus 1.
  
  
  • Group 4th: Total number of dogs entered in
    relevant group, minus total number of dogs
    entered in group winner’s breed, Group
    2nd’s breed, and Group 3rd’s breed, minus 1.
