journey 12 years in the making brings designer Samantha
Gore back to her Jamaican roots. If love of design was the
vehicle that led her to leave, it was also the driver that
brought her home. A conversation with her cousin, hotelier
and businessman Jason Henzell, persuaded her to leave her
successful career in Los Angeles to update legendary south
coast hotel, Jakes.
Gore received the seal of approval from original creator and
owner, the pioneering design guru Sally Henzell, who pointed
out, “I’m very particular, unless it was Sam there is no one I
could’ve trusted to takeover where I left off.”
