As the mercury rises, so do your odds of
disrupted sleep. That’s because your core
body temperature naturally dips while you
snooze. But if your bedroom is too warm,
your body struggles to regulate itself, keep-
ing you from deeper slumber. For more
restful nights, take a cue from Australian
researchers, who found that setting the
thermostat at 64°F noticeably reduces
insomnia. No A/C? Place a bowl of ice in
front of a fan set on low speed—this trick
can ma ke the room feel up to 10°F cooler!
