  • The Frontenac, Lennox and Addington
    Science Fair(FLASF) sent five finalist
    students to the 2019 Canada Wide Science
    Fair (CWSF) in Fredericton, New Brunswick
    and is proud of their accomplishments.
    Elizabeth Reid and Hunter Bannon of
    NDSS were awarded the FLASF Gold
    Medal in the senior age category in Life &
    Earth Sciences for their “Effects of Colour
    Light on Small-Seed Germination”; Leila
    Smailiof Ecole secondaire catholique
    Marie-Rivier was awarded FLASF Gold
    in the intermediate category in Human
    Health Science and CWSF Bronze
    Excellence for her work on “Are Pesticide
    Formulations Genotoxic?”; Luca Menard
    of King’s Town School won the FLASF
    Bronze in the junior category in Computing
    and Engineering Division and CWSF
    Bronze Excellence for “Harnessing Nature’s
    Power”; and Dhruv Patelof LCVI won
    the FLASF Gold in the senior category in
    Human Health Science Award and Queen’s
    University Trophy, as well as CWSF Silver
    Excellence for “A Novel Approach to

    Achievers Award recognizes the
    achievements of secondary students
    who demonstrate exemplary achievement
