New Ancestry Tool: MyTreeTags

The MyTreeTags tool on Ancestry.com<www.ancestry.com>, new in 2019, lets you tag

your relatives’ tree profi les with common ancestral characteristics. Use these to remind

yourself of an ancestor’s research status and alert others who see your public tree.

Ancestry tree.

Below the ances-

tor’s name, click the

pencil icon to open

the MyTreeTag’s

Workspace.

C Click the down

arrow next to

one of the tag

categories to see

some options. For

example, under

Research Status

Tags, you’ll fi nd

Actively Research-

ing, Brick Wall,

Complete, Hypoth-

esis, Unverifi ed and

Verifi ed.

own tag, click the

plus sign ( + ) next

to Create Custom

pate wanting to use

them for multiple

ancestors (such as

Civil War or Jewish).

E Once created,

tags appear below
