almost everything (rims, bars, headlight, oil bag)
including the cylinders that Jeff tried talking Arlen
out of (since it tends to trap heat) but of course, Arlen
was all about style so red they were.
Despite his health, Arlen was determined to ride
Red Magnum at Sturgis in 2018 and it was finished in
July in time for a shake-down ride. Arlen took it out,
put it through its paces and loved how it performed.
He was especially excited with how it sounded and
had grandson Zach come out to hear it.
He was good to go until he came down with pneu-
monia shortly before leaving for Sturgis.
Over the next six months, Arlen had a number
of health setbacks before, sadly, peacefully passing
away on March 22nd, 2019.
So Red Magnum became Arlen’s last ride.
Building it was an opportunity for Arlen to look
back over his long career right back to his roots and
now it will join the pantheon of custom bikes Arlen
left as his legacy.
Arlen put his heart and soul into everything he
did, including this bike. As such, it is Arlen – it is
