S&S SIDEWINDER
2:1 EXHAUST
The Sidewinder offers 2:1
styling for high-performance
baggers and provides increased
power and torque. Available
in show chrome or black
ceramic finish with a machined
aluminium end cap it includes
adapters that allow use of wide
band or stock O2 sensors. It has
a stainless steel stepped header

construction and generates a

deep 2:1 performance exhaust

note. It also comes with a

removable dB reducer.

Now S&S Cycles was started

in 1958 with the goal of making

Harley-Davidsons go faster,

and it’s still carrying out its

original mission in fine style.

I highly recommend the S&S

Sidewinder 2:1 and the dyno

chart on these pages will give

you an indication why I do.

I arranged for Adelaide

Harley-Davidson Bike Works

to do the install, which was a

pretty straightforward task,

only requiring two hours labour

from beginning to end. Not

only does the whole system look

great, but it sounds the goods

too, providing a deep, throaty

roar reminiscent of muscle cars

back in the day. In the above pic

we see technician Shane install-

ing the header pipes.

I have not had a chance yet to

have mine run on the dyno, but

will report it as soon as it gets

done. I’ve done a lot of miles on

this bike and have a good feel

for it and I can tell you it feels

quite a bit more responsive that

with any previous 2-into-2 pipe

system.

I predict this will become the

favourite system for both Twin

Cam and M8 owners seeking

performance but wishing to

keep the balanced look of a

2-into-2 system. S&S are on a
