BOOKSubtitled, 38 Guided Tours from six
Continents, this is a bloody ripper of a
book. It is well written by someone who
has been there and done that. Author
Colette Colman has done the miles
including a two-year odyssey that covered
15 countries from England to Australia.
The book contains many stunning full
colour, full-page photographs, colour
maps and vivid descriptions.
There are four tours described for
Africa, 11 for the Americas, six for Asia,
four for Australia and New Zealand, and
13 for Europe. A total of 40 routes are
covered.
Covering local customs, cuisine, road
conditions likely to be encountered, tipson what to consider in planning the trip,
local tour services available, weather
conditions (including the best time of year
to go to each area), gear, motorcycle rental
versus bring-your-own and a lot of other
key topics.
Now I’ve never ridden many of theseoverseas journeys, but I have ridden the
Australian legs including Darwin to Alice
Springs, the Oodnadatta Track and the
Great Ocean Road and her descriptions
are spot on, this gives me great confidence
that her info on the many foreign coun-
tries she covers would be just as reliable.

some great adventures using it as a guide,
