METZELER CRUISETEC

Scout. Add in the benefits of electronic rider aids like
ABS braking and traction control and older tyres will
be unable to fully deliver those benefits.
So, it would seem obvious that some riders will
be looking for a tyre which allows them to explore
the performance envelope.
The Cruisetec comes as both a radial and X-ply
construction, depending on size and application, as
well as a dual-compound design on the back tyre.
Dual compound tyres have been around for a while
but not in a range specific to our kind of bikes – big
American V-Twins.
The tyre structure is stiffer than normal which
means less distortion and more stability when
cornering. Metzeler also say that the stiff carcass
delivers good mileage on the open road. They don’t
claim it to be a big mileage tyre but you will not suffer
accelerated wear rates because of the high grip levels.
In short, Cruisetec will enhance the handling and
road-holding of your bike and give you a good run
between tyre changes. Maybe too good to be true?
Well, as always, the proof is in the testing.
