This eye-pleasing flowing shape is sometimes
referred to as a French Curve and with this build,
ever-inventive Gilby has crafted a very appetising
piece of eye candy.
The central focus are those flowing curves of the
tank and rear guard, which the eyes follow down
from the tank and right along the rear guard to its
turned up tip. In three decades of taking photographs
of custom bikes, during which I have encountered
many innovative ideas, I have never before seen a
bobtail unit turned into a fuel tank.
Now in our Nanny country
- policed by rule-writing ignorant
public servants who totally lack any
understanding of front-end geometry – we Aussie
bikers seethe with envy, and fume with jealousy
when we see a front-end way out there such as this
one. That doesn’t mean we want it to be our daily
commuter to work and back, but how cool would it
be to cruise along the beachfront on a hot summer
day or glide around sweepers on a nice section of
hills road?
