Right royal new patron for RPS
The Queen is no longer the patron of the RPS, but don’t worry, the
Society has not lost its ‘Royal’ accolade. The Duchess of Cambridge
is taking over. She’s a Canon user, and took the first public photos
of Prince George and Princess Charlotte together. See rps.org.

Prize-winning hitmen photos faked
Swiss/Italian photojournalist Michele Crameri has apologised after
it was revealed that an award-winning series of photos of hitmen
at work in Honduras was faked. A Honduran fixer revealed that
the hitmen were faking their execution techniques for Crameri’s
benefit. The images had been published with misleading captions.

Syrp’s compact Genie Mini II

Genie 2 app, allowing the speed
and path of movement to be
customised. It costs £239.95.

expert guidance from Dave Kai Piper. Reader Sarah Mawdsley won
the overall prize of a Sigma 50mm lens, and Sigma also showed off
its L-mount lenses and MC-21 converter. Full story in AP 3 August.
