HEN their Hell’s Kitchen

mobster husbands are thrown

behind bars, Kathy (McCarthy),

Ruby (Haddish) and Claire (Moss) are

left to provide for their loved ones

on their own. But since the only jobs

they can manage to snag don’t cut the

mustard in terms of income, the wives

decide to take matters into their own

hands by taking control of the Mafia.

Reluctant at first, Kathy, Ruby and

Claire are surprised to learn they have a

knack for organized crime. But it’s only

a matter of time before they come face

to face with real threats — and must

take out the competition at all costs.

In the 1970s-set crime drama, first-

time director Andrea Berloff says it was

thrilling to watch a group of females

be the ones to turn up the heat in the

kitchen. “I was excited by the idea of

placing women in a position and world

in which we don’t normally see them,”

she explains. Let’s get cooking!
