would like him to stop flaunting it, please. The couple are reportedly at odds over the
actor’s lavish spending, which Amal finds “out of touch with the real world” in which so
many are suffering, not to mention off-brand with her life’s work: humanitarian efforts.
“He thinks nothing of dropping tens of thousands at a time on designer suits, jewelry,
antiques. It’s gotten way out of control and Amal’s grossed out by it,” says a source.
When she scolded her husband about his spendthrift ways, though, the insider says,
George was blindsided. “He was so used to his Hollywood-type girlfriends demanding
nothing but luxury over the years, he assumed Amal would require the same,” says
the insider — but his highly conscientious wife is quite the opposite. Amal’s even
suggested monitoring George with an allowance, something that makes him feel
uncomfortably mothered, the source says. George feels he’s worked hard and does
plenty of good with his cash, including sponsoring refugees and making political
donations, and that he deserves to enjoy his riches some. The couple are “at a bit
of a stalemate on the issue.” ★

Grammy-nominated singer-
songwriter Jewel has one wish:
wellness for everyone. The
Wellness Your Way Festival,
sponsored by Kroger, is a star-
studded musical/health event
that’s also more accessible
than your average elitist
wellness weekend (tickets
start at $10). Jewel understands
the importance of access to
affordable information and
resources — as well as healing
music. This year Rachel Platten
(of anthem “Fight Song” fame)
and singer-songwriter Josie
Dunne join the founding artist to
kick-start attendees’ “journey
to harmony and happiness.”
Visitors of the festival, unfolding
in Denver Aug. 16 to 18, then
in Cincinnati Oct. 11 to 13, “will
experience a combination of my
passions: health, wellness and
music,” Jewel explains. “They’ll
hear from the coolest people and
experts who have spent a lifetime
seeking wisdom on how to live a
healthier and happier life.” Tickets
are available to the public at
wellnessyourwayfestival.com ★
