t hosted a 10-day festival
celebrating the Street Foods of
India, at The Café@JW, the all-
day dining restaurant at the hotel,
which included food from the by-lanes
of Indore, Chennai, Lucknow and
Amritsar. Everyone thinks that Chennai
doesn’t stretch beyond ‘idli-dosa but
while at the fest we were introduced
with some mouth-watering gastronomic
adventure by the Executive Chef
Naveen Handa and with sous-chef de
cuisine Ashish Kumar. As we bite into
Chennai’s iconic dishes like the stuffed
Kuttu Parantha in vegetarian and non-
vegetarian variants, Panyaram in Kuzhi
and sweet alternatives, Dosa and Kurma,
must try from the Chennai kitchen is
Kozhukattai, a tempting festive dessert
which uses a perfect combo of Coconut
and Jaggery, we felt that these are not
dishes but a gastronomical delight.
