DARIO GRADI’s reputation has
been destroyed after a scathing
report revealed he could have
stopped a paedophile feared to have
preyed on more than 25 young
players at Chelsea in the 1970s.
The former Crewe Alexandra manager
comes in for fierce criticism in an incendiary
250-page review into historic child sex abuse
at Chelsea involving Eddie Heath, a former
scout accused of molesting a number of boys.
Chelsea, who have apologised unreservedly
to the victims, commissioned Charles Geekie
QC to carry out the report.
As part of his review, he spoke to a former
youth-team player who claims he was abused
by the now deceased Heath. The player’s
father said Gradi, then assistant manager at
stamford Bridge, turned up at their house in
