WEST HAM
have signed
teenage centre-back
Goncalo Cardosa
from Boavista.
The 18-year-old
has joined the
Hammers on a
five-year contract for
a reported fee in the
region of £2.7million.
Cardosa, who
becomes the club’s
fifth signing of the
summer, played
15 times for the
Portuguese club last
season after making
his debut in October.
He is a Portuguese
Under-19
international.

FULHAM have
landed midfielder
Harry Arter on loan
from Bournemouth.
The 29-year-old

  • Fulham boss Scott
    Parker’s brother-in-
    law – will spend the
    2019-20 season at
    Craven Cottage, with
    an option to make
    the move permanent
    next summer.
    “I’m delighted to
    be here at Fulham,”
    said Arter. “They are
    a fanastic club with
    lot of ambition, who
    want to get back to
    the Premier League
and I hope I can help
    them achieve that.”

the winger spent a spell on
loan at West Brom last
campaign.
Now Fulham, Derby,
Huddersfield and
Sheffield Wednesday
are all keen on
taking the 24-year
old twin brother of
Cardiff’s Josh.
While Lazaar
and Saivet are
both likely to move
to the continent, Colback
could be heading back to
Nottingham Forest, where
he has enjoyed two
successful loan stints.

JACOB MURPHY will lead
the exodus at Newcastle,
with up to six players leaving
in the next 48 hours.
Keeper Rob Elliot,
defenders Achraf Lazaar
and Jamie Sterry,
midfielders Henri
Saivet and Jack
Colback and
Murphy are all
unlikely to make
Steve Bruce’s
25-man Premier
League squad.
Murphy, above, struggled
to establish himself after
arriving from Norwich last
summer for £12million and

him for nothing. Koscielny had a
medical in France yesterday and
leaves after nine years in London,
where he won three FA Cups.
Arsenal said in a statement: “We
decided to sanction his move to
Bordeaux once we agreed acceptable
transfer terms. We thank Laurent for
his contribution to the club and
wish him all the best for the future.”
Koscielny had rejected a new deal
to stay at Arsenal, saying the terms
on offer did not reflect his
contribution and continued ability.
The club began disciplinary
proceedings against Koscielny after
his refusal to go on tour but finally
accepted his demand to leave after
he made it clear he was not willing
to reverse his decision to quit.

ARSENAL have made signing a new
centre-back their top priority after
finally waving goodbye to Laurent
Koscielny.
The Gunners skipper joined
Bordeaux yesterday after the club
thrashed out a compromise allowing
the wantaway defender to leave.
But they are intent on replacing
him, with RB Leipzig’s Dayot
Upamecano and Juventus defender
Daniele Rugani among their targets.
Koscielny refused to go on the
Gunners’ USA pre-season tour after
they refused to let him go on a free.
Arsenal were holding out for a fee
closer to £10million but ended up
accepting a deal worth £4.6m with
the French club instead. Koscielny
had one year left on his contract and
the Gunners did not want to lose
