to Angela Madden for ‘In the Pink’.

Moving onto one of my favourite categories, the Theme.
This year it was Batik Beauties, sure to bring out a fabulous
selection of quilts, I was not disappointed. ‘Hothouse Hybrids’

by Liz Jones came fi rst along with picking up a Judge's Choice

certifi cate from Jacquie Vallis. This one certainly deserved

closer inspection, the appliqué was neat and colourful with

a Prairie Point edging. Moira

Neal delighted us again this

year with her trademark

sheep in ‘Baatik Beauties’. You

can spend an age studying

her quilts for the tiny details,

the worms always make me

smile! Christine Porter made

this one her Judge’s Choice.

The sparkling ‘Twinkle,

Twinkle’ by Yvonne McKee

was awarded third place

along with the Quilters’ Guild

Award for Use of Colour.

It certainly lived up to the

name as the sparkling colours

were enhanced by Swarovski

crystals on the stars.
