PROJECT // giraff e scooter bag



  1. Appliqué raw edges of pieces with
    narrow satin stitch and then embroider
    mouth.
    6a. Place rectangle on top of 6" x 8"
    wadding rectangle and use as a template
    to cut curves on bottom corners of
    wadding.
    b. Position hoop pieces of Velcro 1"
    from top edge and ½" in from edges and
    centre a third piece in similar manner.
    c. Stitch pieces in place, stitching through
    fabric and wadding.


ASSEMBLY
1a. Place front and back bag pieces right
sides together aligning bottom curved
corners.
b. Stitch around outside edges leaving
top edges open.
c. Clip curves and turn right side out.
2a. Take 6" x 8" rectangle and 8" square
lining pieces and create curved bottom
edges as before.
b. Place pieces right sides together and
join together in similar manner and clip
curves.
3a. Insert outer bag into lining and join
lining to bag, leaving back straight edge
open.
b. Clip into corners and turn right side
out.
c. Push lining into bag and topstitch
along straight edge.
4a. Pin straps in position so they are
aligned with Velcro squares on back of bag.

b. Place bag flap right sides together
with back of bag and stitch through
all layers, enclosing ends of straps,
illust. 8a.
5a. Take 1½" x 8" lining rectangle and
press down ¼" seam allowance along
each side.
b. Place rectangle down over raw
edges of previous seam and appliqué
in place to hide raw edges, illust. 8b.


  1. Attach bag to scooter by folding
    and fastening straps over handlebars
    and wrapping back strap around neck
    of scooter.
