top and bottom edges of cushion front,
again taking care with orientation of
strips.
b. Add 3" x 18½" Grey Houses strips to
opposite sides.- Position reserved panel piece in
centre of cushion front and appliqué in
place as before, illust. 4b.
4a. Make quilt sandwich with cushion
front and 20" wadding and backing
squares.
b. Pin or baste layers. - Quilt in the ditch or as desired.
- Double bind edges with remaining
two, 2¼" Turquoise Hearts strips.
7a. Lay quilt top out on a flat surface
right side down.
b. Position cushion front on top right
side down, ensuring it is centred along
bottom edge of quilt, illust. 5.
c. Pin and stitch sides and bottom edge
of cushion front to quilt top. Ensure top
edge nearest centre of quilt top is left
unstitched.
8a. To fold quilt up into quillow,
with wrong side of quilt and cushion
uppermost, fold one third of quilt top
along its length towards centre of quilt,
illust. 6a.
b. Fold remainder of quilt down
towards centre in same way, illust. 6b.
c. Fold quilt down in thirds from top
edge, illust. 6c and illust. 6d.
d. Turn cushion right side out through
open edge at top to create cushion,
illust. 6e and illust. 6f.Enjoy!COMPLETION

MAKE THE QUILLOW
1a. Take remainder of joined strips set
aside in step 3b of Piecing earlier and
cross cut four, 7" squares from strip set.
b. Arrange blocks into two rows of two
blocks, illust. 4a.
c. Join blocks together in rows and then
join rows together.
