A JEWEL OF A QUILT
I was really inspired by the
Jewel Box Quilt in the January
issue (300) of P&Q, so inspired
I made mine seven squares by
six. I have used up so many
scraps, wonderful. I am giving
it to a friend who has been
a jewel to my husband and
myself. Thank you also for the
wonderful selection of thimbles
which came my way they were
very useful for quilting this quilt.
I rather like the quilt hanging on
the washing line don't you?
Gillian Lister, by email

Gillian, it’s a beautiful pattern and
you have done a wonderful job.
I’m sure your friend will love to
receive such a gift, I know I would.
Katharine Guerrier has a talent
with producing patterns which
are brilliant for using scraps.

A NAUTICAL STASH BUST
Here are photos of the king-sized bedspread I
recently fi nished, using Stuart’s January Block in
P&Q magazine.

I enlarged the dimensions to make 18" squares
with a 6" edging. As my husband and I used to sail
I used various nautical prints and I'm currently
redecorating the bedroom before surprising him
with my pièce de resistance!

Thanks for the inspiration of the monthly page!
Jean Ellis, by email

Jean, Stuart kindly forwarded your email to us so
we could all see your beautiful quilt, inspired by his
January Stashbusting! (Issue 300). I bet you can’t
wait to see it in situ when your bedroom is fi nished.
