Whether you come by car, foot

locals and out-of-towners alike
rave about the experience as
much as the coffee. You also
can get smoothies and baked
goods (the “pink cookies” have
a cult-like following!) Open 7

If fishing is your thing, you
may want to test the waters
at Stop #7, because the catch-
of-the-day at Sand Lake is so
impressive, Sandhaven Resort’s
website has a “braggin’ page”
dedicated to the subject. But
you don’t have to be an angler
to enjoy your time here. The
resort strives to be a “total
family experience,” with sandy
beaches, canoes, paddleboats,
sport courts, a game room and
more. And you can bring the
whole family — dog-friendly
cabins are available.

Lutsen has been receiving weary
travelers into its warm embrace
even when it was a private resi-

arms have extended to include a
large lodge, cliff-side townhomes
and individual log cabin rent-
als with exquisite views of the
glassy water. An onsite Activities
Department can help you round
out your stay with f ly-f ishing tu-
torials, stand-up paddleboard
lessons, guided kayak tours or
even yoga on the beach.
