In 2015, the
company launched
two variants
of Galaxy S6
smartphone. One of
the variants featured
a curved edge
display helping the
device stand apart
from the competition.
It also had wireless
charging support.

In 2016, Samsung
Galaxy S7 focused
only on internal
upgrades rather than
design overhaul.
While one variant
featured a flat
display, the other
variant offered a
curved screen with
bigger screen size.

In 2017, Samsung
introduced the
Galaxy S8 series
smartphone with
infinity display with
an aspect ratio of
19:9 and a curved
display. The Galaxy
S8’s new design was
often criticized due
to the bad fingerprint
scanner placement.

In 2018 came the
Galaxy S9 with some
minor design fixes
including changes
in the fingerprint
scanner which was
moved below the
camera. The Galaxy
S9 introduced
variable aperture and
Galaxy S9+ adds
an extra telephoto
camera module.

This year, Samsung
unveiled not just
one, but four new
Galaxy S10 variants

  • Galaxy S10e,
    Galaxy S10, Galaxy
    S10+ and Galaxy
    S10 5G. Samsung
    also introduced its
    new One UI software
    which is based
    on Android 9 Pie
    operating system.
