Well, the name suggests it’s utility
and this project is not merely a
reality but a rescuer for refugees.
Students from London have created
a coat that you can wear and can
also be converted into a sleeping
bag or a tent as and when required!
It is durable, waterproof, breathable
and can retain the body heat of the
person using it. It is also affordable
and sustainable and a boon to
people suffering from poverty,
war or repression. The concept is
already there, but students are still
working on improvising and making
it better from the point of view of
social commitment.

edibLe Food
wrapperS

Considering that in the current
world, we rely a lot on packaged
food that comes with plastic as
the key component of packaging
material. With the substantial use
of plastic and its adverse effects
on both health and nature, this
product is directed towards the
reduction of the use of plastic and
assures a positive impact on the
contrary. Researchers in the
US are aiming towards creating
packaging material that is made
from a protein found in milk, called
Casein. The food wrapper will be
both edible and biodegradable
that will not just preserve the food
from spoiling but will also add extra
protein nutrients to the food.

the mind-reader
ShoppinG cart

Attention ladies, from making your
shopping checklist, refraining you
from overspending to finalising
your purchased items by paying
automatically without standing in
checkout queues, this so-called
mind-reader shopping cart is too
unrealistically smart, and it might
add some zeal to your humdrum
shopping. Chaotic Moon Labs
started off with this invention
last year, where you can text the
cart’s in-built tab, and it’ll know
who you are and what are your
requirements. It’ll also have a GPS
to navigate you through the store
and help you in picking up the
items that are on your list!

thinkinG t eeth

We have often heard about
wisdom tooth, but now we will
soon encounter thinking teeth!
Well, an interesting invention
is on your way that will detect
bacteria, cavity or an infection
in your teeth and will notify your
dentist about the same, so you
don’t miss out your appointment.
Scientists at Princeton & Tufts are
working on a kind of temporary
tattoo or say a super thin sensor
that will do all the apparent
thinking. And the sensors will
be inexpensive enough to be
replaced every day. The future is
here, guys!

Live muLti-taSkinG
Screen

Mark Rolston of the design firm
Frog, got too inspired with “Iron
Man’s” Tony Stark swiping and
operating the multitasking screen
and wants to create something
of that sort so, that we don’t get
confined to just one screen unlike
a laptop, tab or a smartphone. If
this invention works out, it may be
tomorrow’s darling tech for
multi-tasking where the entire room
may become your screen!

wireLeSS eLectricitY

Yes, you read it right, unimaginable
but hopefully, soon you’ll find it
for real. WiTricity is developing
something called the “resonance”
technology that transfers electric
energy or power over a distance
without wires. Primarily the tech
works by putting a magnetic field
in the air and enables wireless
power transfer over a distance to
any device that is bought near it.
The tech promises to be extremely
efficient and is a solution to a key
emerging customer requirement.
