ReAnne BiRCH, 31, works in
children’s safeguarding. She married
Kumar, 32, a clinical psychologist, in
August 2017. They live in grays, essex.

WHEN I told my family I was planning on
buying another wedding dress when I’d
already bought the first a few months
earlier, they were a bit puzzled.
But I’ve always been over-the-top and
loved wedding dress shopping the first
time round so much that I wanted to do
it all over again!
And although Kumar wasn’t impressed
I was spending so much, when it got
closer to the day he decided he was
going to get a second outfit, too.
My first dress was the first one I tried
on in the first shop I visited. I wanted a
mermaid-style off-the-shoulder gown
and Mum spotted it first. A beautiful lacy
number, it cost £2,500 (left). As Dad

walked me down the aisle of Painshill
Park in Surrey to the sound of steel pans
playing Pachelbel’s Canon, I felt wonder-
ful. Kumar cried when he saw me.
Social media had a lot to do with my
second choice of dress. Instagram
clearly knew I was a bride-to-be because
wedding dresses seemed to crop up on
my feed all the time. I saw a gorgeous
Italian designer dress and knew that it
was the one — but at £9,000, it was too
much even for me! Thankfully, I found an
amazing dressmaker who made me a
very similar style for only £1,300 (right).
Kumar and I both disappeared after
the first dance and arrived back on the
dance floor in our new outfits. The guests
were so surprised we’d changed but
they loved it! I’m thinking of taking off
the train of the second gown and making
it into a regular evening dress.

33, who works for a leading property
website. They married in the South
of France in September 2014.
aS i’M not very organised, i only went
dress shopping a few months before our
wedding. i’d tried on a few before i found
this beautiful £2,000 lace dress by French
designer Laure de Sagazan (above). i
bought it, but something niggled that it
didn’t have the ‘wow’ effect i’d
hoped for.
When browsing social media after-
wards, i kept seeing another gown called
the Hollie by an australian designer. it
was more beachy and relaxed in style.
i agonised for a while, and then after a
night out and a few drinks, i bought the
dress (right) on my credit card. it was
nearly £1,000 but i thought if i didn’t get
it, i’d regret it.
i didn’t breathe a word to Matt — i
thought he’d tell me off for spending
more money! On the day of the wedding,
i changed into the second dress in time
for the first dance, the rolling Stones’
Miss You. Matt was very surprised and
the guests loved it. i’ve no regrets.
