he first piece we launched was our Jem Skull Slipper and it was a global hit almost
instantly,” says Jasmine Yarbrough, one half of Australian footwear label Mara &
Mine. “Cara Delevingne, Chanel Iman, Kendall Jenner and Margot Robbie were
all early adopters of the style.” This was 2013, and the brand has since become an
internationally recognised go-to for everyday-footwear with a twist. “We initially
established the brand as a flat-shoe collection, but we felt including lower heel
way to naturally evolve the casual and effortless attitude of the collection,” says
Tamie Ingham, the other half of the operation. “The kitten heel felt like a good start, and the
response was instantaneous.” Ingham and Yarbrough say the inclusion of the kitten heel helped
garner the attention of the fashion industry at large, landing them in luxury New York
department store Bergdorf Goodman, as well as Farfetch, with trunk shows at Moda Operandi
following. “Comfort, quality and functionality are at the core of what we do, and no matter how
