Starting early morning with classic rom-

com Sleepless in Seattle, Sky are offering

two days devoted to an actor who has built

up a formidable body of work in a huge

variety of genres. Big, Cast Away, You’ve Got

Mail, Saving Private Ryan, Philadelphia,

Catch Me If You Can and Forrest Gump all

stand out, but even the second-stringers –

like The Da Vinci Code and The Ladykillers

• benefit hugely from the ‘aw shucks,’
  persona that Tom seems to have borrowed
  from James Stewart, another ‘unassuming’
  actor whose versatility took him to the
  top. And with no less than seven movies
  currently in the works – including playing
  Colonel Tom Parker in an upcoming Elvis
  Presley biopic – Tom Hanks shows no sign
  of slowing down. ★★★★ SM

Ralph Breaks the Internet

PREMIERE hero Wreck-It Ralph(voiced by John C Rei’s videogamllye )

expands his horizons in this breezy sequel

in which he goes off to search in the

vastness of the internet for a steering

wheel needed for the arcade game where

best friend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman)

lives. As the two travel the worldwide web,

they bump into all manner of characters,

notably all of the Disney princesses in

probably the best segment of the movie.

Although it dabbles in the concept of

viruses, this is mostly a rosy-hued vision

of the internet as the backdrop for a story

about friendship. Great fun, even if it goes

on a little too long. ★★★★ NP
