The Great Gardening Challenge

LAST ONE

The final two teams compete

to be crowned Channel 5’s

Great Gardening Challenge champions as

this enjoyable and inspiring competition

comes to a close. The remaining pairs of

designers have £10,000 to spend on a

17.5m x 10m half-crescent-shaped plot at

RHS Gardens Wisley. The brief stipulates

the gardens must be environmentally

friendly, encourage wildlife, inspire

children, have a seating area, be accessible

for all, with dynamic planting and take-

home ideas. Quite a tall order. The designs

both teams come up with are ambitious,

but torrential rain on the second and final

day means it’s a muddy race to the finish,

although both gardens still somehow

manage to look glorious. ★★★★ JL

Keeping Faith

● DRAMA / 9pm / BBC1

So much for trying to save their

marriage... Evan is already suspicious that

Faith is seeing Steve Baldini, and now this

week Faith is tipped off that Evan is having

an affair with Irish crime boss Gael

Reardon during his day releases from

prison. Of course, the revelation only

pushes Faith right into the arms of Steve

(at last!), but is the whole Evan and Gael

thing just part of Evan’s agenda as a

police informant to bring Gael down?

Meanwhile, the Madlen Vaughan trial

dramatically unravels after Faith misses

a crucial morning in court to take Rhodri

to A&E. But the verdict leaves everyone,

including Faith, reeling... ★★★★★ HD

Holby City

● DRAMA / 8pm (Scotland, 10.35pm) / BBC1

Jac Naylor’s earned herself a reputation as Holby’s

resident ice queen, ruling Darwin ward with an iron fist as

clinical lead. But when she’s distracted by matters at home,

will she decide family must come first? Meanwhile,

Dominic’s imagination runs away with him when he

hilariously suspects Hanssen and Carole are having an

affair. Elsewhere, Chloe receives some unwanted gifts

from Evan, and Serena decides to take some time away

to grieve for Bernie. ★★★ VW
