“I’m continually intrigued by the lives of
wild things, especially those in the Rocky
Mountain West,” he says. “The more I learn
about seasonal migrations, the more amazed
I am. It’s fun to imagine the challenges of
surviving a long migration. For example,
how many close calls and obstacles will an
elk face leaving the high country for winter
range? Wolves, bears, mountain lions and the
ever-changing weather all play a part in this
wilderness drama. With my recent move to
Cody, Wyoming, I guess in some small part
I can relate to the adventure of a long, difficult
journey with no guarantees.”
