Charles Wallingford and Bill Wright, neck knife and quilled sheath;
knife hand-forged from 1084 bar stock, handle in dyed whitetail antler,
accented with hand-cast pewter bolster and end cap in sterling silver;
sheath is hand-crafted in brain-tanned hide, dyed using walnut hull bath.

The Contemporary Longrifl e Association returns with its annual


meeting and sale August 16-17 in Lexington, Kentucky.

ans of frontier art and
artifacts will rejoice at the
return of the Contemporary
Longrifl e Association’s annual
meeting and sale August 16 and
17 at the Lexington Convention
Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
The association is the
country’s premier organization
for the preservation of traditional
frontier arts. Its members
includes gunmakers, knife
makers, painters, sculptors,
traditional quillworkers,
silversmiths and furniture
makers. More than 300 vendors
are expected to turn out to
present the fi nest selection of
frontier-inspired art, gifts and
authentic home décor.
The show runs from 8 a.m.
to 7 p.m. on August 16 and from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 17.
The centerpiece of the show is
the annual fundraising auction,
which will take place at 5 p.m.
on August 16. The show and sale
are only open to members of the
CLA, but memberships will be
for sale at the event for $20. The
auction will include live, phone
and absentee bidding, which does
not require a membership.
