O

ver here at Western Art Collector magazine we believe that content

is king and the best collectors are the most informed collectors.

Further, we believe that our most important job is to make sure

this happens month by month, issue by issue, year by year. And this is why

we spend so much of our time researching the market for both historic

and contemporary Western art, traveling to important shows, interviewing

curators, directors, collectors, artists and dealers and truly fi nding the pulse

of the market.

But we don’t stop there. We want to make sure you enjoy reading

this magazine just as much as we enjoy putting it together. That is why we

take the time to fi nd interesting features, to really take the time needed to

write such stories and then present them to you in a way that is interesting,

enlightening and of course enjoyable. Along with these stories, we love to

give you rich, large images to make your perusing pleasure even greater.

Whether they be images of artwork, artist studios, collector homes,

museums, art events or fairs, we push it right up until our deadline to

make sure every single article in the magazine is fi lled with large, beautiful

images to enhance your experience.

Speaking of images, our roving and roaming photographer Francis

Smith is currently traversing the country shooting our widely popular

collector home section of the magazine. Last time we chatted, he was in

Portland, then Bozeman, then Billings, Denver, Santa Fe and Texas. And

that’s just this month! We love homes and we love interiors. But, more

than that, the homes we feature are fi lled with Western art! Wow. What a

concept! These homes aren’t the latest projects of some heralded interior

designer. No, these are homes put together by art collectors. Where the

art on the wall is more important than the furniture or refrigerator choice.

They are true places where real people live with the art they purchase

surrounding them every day. Art collectors and art lovers. Just like us.
