  1. (^) Wat ch BH90210
Prepare for some serious ’90s flashbacks.
    Fox, August 7.
The original cast, minus the late Luke Perry,
reunites for this meta-reboot of the original Bev-
erly Hills, 90210. Fingers crossed for at least one
    “Donna Martin graduates” reference. j.c.

    Future Fashion
    Out-of-this-world looks.
    Brooklyn Museum, through January 5.
Known for his futuristic looks in the ’60s, ’70s,
and ’80s, French fashion designer Pierre Cardin,
who’s the only civilian to ever wear Buzz Aldrin’s
astronaut suit, defined the Space Age look. His
first New York retrospective in 40 years arrives in
Brooklyn just in time for the 50th anniversary of
    the Apollo 11 moon landing.

  3. (^) Wat ch HBO Crime
    Documentaries
    There’s no escaping this genre.
    HBO.
The premium-cable network has devoted every
Tuesday and Wednesday in July to new two-part
episodes of true-crime stories. I Love You, Now
Die, about a well-known texting suicide case, and
Behind Closed Doors, about a double murder in
India, have debuted. Now the final installment,
Who Killed Garrett Phillips?, about a black soc-
cer coach accused of killing a 12-year-old white
    boy, is here. j.c.
“The glorious new Center for Fiction (15
Lafayette Avenue) in Brooklyn has been my
    home-away-from-apartment this summer, and
because the cruelty of girls is a recurring theme
in my own work, the ‘Mean Girls’ panel with
brilliant writer Melissa Febos on July 24 is a
    must. Otherwise, solitary afternoon moviegoing
has been my go-to heat-avoidance strategy
since the 1980s. I can’t think of a better excuse
to bathe in cinematic moondust than a double
feature with three of Maya Deren’s films and
Mulholland Drive at BAM on July 28. If you’ve
never seen Deren’s films, just go for those, Meshes
of the Afternoon in particular. Set in 1940s Los
Angeles, it’s a dreamlike, surrealist short film that
feels both intensely modern and like a message in
    a bottle from another universe.”
Catch Cline in conversation at McNally Jackson
    (76 N. 4th St., Williamsburg) on July 25.
    So, Rachel Cline,
