Check out these first shots from
ITV’s take on Jane Austen’s
final and incomplete
novel, Sanditon.
Adapted by
Andrew Davies,
the eight-part
drama, airing
later this
year, follows
impetuous
Charlotte
Heywood
(Rose Williams)
as she arrives in the
up-and-coming seaside
resort of Sanditon, where the
residents are eager to make
their fortunes.

POWERFUL INFLUENCE
Charlotte soon embarks on
a complex relationship with
Sidney Parker (Theo James), a
charismatic but unpredictable
self-made man, while Anne
Reid co-stars as wealthy but
miserly Lady Denham, who

has a powerful influence on
the town, and Kris Marshall is
Sidney’s ambitious brother
Tom. Kate Ashfield,
Jack Fox, Leo Suter,
Kevin Eldon
and Adrian
Scarborough
co-star.
‘I’m
excited
that we’re
bringing
the world of
Sanditon to a
TV audience with
such a brilliant cast,
headed by star of
the future Rose
Williams as our
independent
and forthright
heroine,’ says
Davies. ‘It’s
been such fun
to develop Jane
Austen’s fragment
into a series.’
