The 2018 adaptation of William
Makepeace Thackeray’s Regency-set novel
starred Olivia Cooke as social climber
Becky Sharp. An all-star cast included
Tom Bateman as soldier Rawdon Crawley,
Martin Clunes as Sir Pitt Crawley and
Frances de la Tour as Lady Matilda Crawley.

Fans of Regency dramas
won’t want to miss this
upcoming Netflix series,
which is currently in production. Based on Julia Quinn’s
best-selling novels, the drama is set in London’s high
society and centres on the eight close-knit siblings
of the Bridgerton family. It’s produced by Scandal’s
Shonda Rhimes, while Dame Julie Andrews voices
sharp-tongued narrator Lady Whistledown.

Matt and Luke Gossreunite for a special

night of Bros-themed fun on BBC

Bros: After the Screaming Stops
became the surprise highlight of
last Winter’s TV schedule as the
music documentary charted the
rise and fall of Matt and Luke Goss

  • the twin brothers behind 1980s
pop band Bros – as they reunited
    for two shows in London.
    Among the
    unintentionally
    hilarious
    moments was
    Matt’s analysis
    of the pair’s
    relationship:
    ‘He’s a rectangle.
    I am a rectangle.
    Together we are
    a square... That’s
    a fortress.’

HOSTS WITH THE MOST
This week, there’s another chance
to see the documentary as Bros
stage a takeover of BBC4 for one
night only. The duo will also be
presenting music and interviews, as
well as programming celebrating
some of their musical influences.
Luke admits he was ‘utterly
blown away’ by the positive reaction
to their own documentary, which

was described by one critic as,
‘Spinal Tap meets Smash Hits.’
‘We didn’t want to make a
promotional piece saying, “Look
how fabulous we are,”’ adds Matt.
‘Those documentaries irritate me’.
The documentary also made the
pair reassess their relationship. ‘It’s
easy to look at it as just me and Matt
arguing, but it ended up building
so many bridges between us,’ says
Luke. ‘I had no idea it would be like
therapy, but it helped us
communicate again.’
Now, after being
catapulted back into
the spotlight, the
brothers’ future
plans include
a new album,
while Matt has
co-written the
score for a musical
adaptation of
1970s drama Upstairs
Downstairs, which he hopes
to bring to London’s West End.
Meanwhile, fans are demanding
a follow-up to After the Screaming
Stops – but will they get one?
‘It would have to be an entirely
different kind of film... not just
another fly-on-the-wall,’ says Luke.
Matt, on the other hand, seems
keener: ‘The film only touched the
tip of the iceberg of our lives – we’ll
definitely do another one!’
