VISIT THE VEEP
CAPITAL
Veep is a phenomenon that’s gained
an enormous audience around the
world who love its gently wry take
on the state of American politics. The
show’s location, Washington DC, will
be familiar to most and especially to
its star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, as the US
capital is not only Veep’s location
AS SEEN ON
TWIN PEAKS
Twin Peaks has built up a huge and
fanatical following, many of whom
make the pilgrimage to Washington
in the Pacific Northwest of the
United States to visit the various
locations. Hardcore fans will want
to stay at Salish Lodge & Spa,
known in the show as the Great
Northern Hotel and the residence
of Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle
MacLachlan) as he investigates the
murder of Laura Palmer. Right next
door to the hotel is another Twin
Cobb Civic Center as the scene of a
celebrity basketball game featuring
Alfred ‘Paper Boi’ Miles (Brian
Tyree Henry). Atlanta uses a few
real-life businesses as filming
locations and there’s plenty of
places you can get a bite to eat in
the same seat as the stars of the
show. Try a Chubby Decker burger
at Zesto Drive-In, order your wings
“wet” at JR Crickets or get a
monster slice at Camila’s Pizza.
but also Julia’s home town. While
the show is mostly shot on sound
stages in California, you will
recognise many of the exterior
locations used in the show just by
walking around the White House,
the Capitol Building and other
famous DC government structures.
The first four seasons of Veep were
filmed in Maryland and Baltimore,
before moving to LA and DC.

Falls, which appear in
the opening credits. Kiana
Lodge is not only the location of
most of the Great Northern Hotel’s
interior scenes, it’s also home to
‘Laura’s Log’, the site of the
discovery of Palmer’s body. Of
course, there’s no better way to
finish your day than with a slice of
cherry pie at Twede’s Cafe, the site
of the Double R Diner.
