Jay Cutler Named Honorary Ambassador

of the 2019 Olympia Weekend

and down-to-earth attitude that made him one of the most popular bodybuilders
of all time with millions of devoted fans around the world. “Jay has been awesome
to work with over the past 17 years and still going strong,” said Schiek Sports
CEO, John Schiek. Now, Chief Olympia Officer Dan Solomon has named Jay the
Honorary Ambassador of the 2019 Olympia Weekend this September in Las
Vegas. Jay was the perfect choice for this role, and he is already embracing his
new position.
“It’s such an honor torepresent Schiek Sports and now the Olympia,” Jay
said. I’ve been in Las Vegas for 17 years, and I
competed at the first Mr. Olympia held here in

  1. I fought hard to earn the title, I carried it, and
I handed it over to a couple of great champions,
including Dexter Jackson and seven-time Mr.
Olympia Phil Heath. It’s incredible now to be the
guy that stands in the forefront and handles a
lot of the press and media to promote this stellar
event. We’re carrying on a proud tradition in the
Mr. Olympia contest, with new changes to make
it even better. My goal is to bring more attention
and awareness to the show so that more people
can experience everything it has to offer.”
Jay has a special place in his heart for the Mr.
Olympia event, as it acted as a catalyst in several
    ways in his life.
“The Olympia title has meant so much to
me, and it’s done so much for me,” Jay said. “It
propelled my life and career nearly 20 years ago,
and it still carries me today. Winning for the first
time in 2006 was special because the title had
been elusive. I had placed second to the great
Ronnie Coleman four times, so finally winning it
was a dream come true and a very sweet victory I
will always savor. Now, it’s been nine years since
I last won, and six years since I last stood on the
Olympia stage. The crazy thing is, I’m busier than
I’ve ever been. I travel the entire world, and I’m
recognized and respected everywhere I go as a Mr. Olympia champion.
“I was an ambassador for the sport and for the Mr. Olympia long before I ever
won my first title but making it official now feels fantastic. Bodybuilding is growing
internationally and expanding in participation and popularity with so many new
divisions. I try to help people understand the bodybuilding lifestyle and all the
benefits that regular weight training and good nutrition can bring in terms of
both physical and mental health. Bodybuilding can give you the discipline and
work ethic it takes to succeed in any avenue in life. Now I am representing the
Olympia Weekend, the pinnacle of achievement for bodybuilding. Again, I am
deeply honored to be chosen as the Honorary Ambassador of the 2019 Olympia
Weekend, and I want to help make it the most successful one ever.”
