Bearded Irises, watercolour and pastel, 17 3 22in (43 3 56cm).
I put in the inishing touches, such as a dab of yellow pastel in the centre
of some of the falls, consolidating the inal shapes of the foliage so
that there is a good balance of positive and negatively painted shapes,
taking out any awkward and unwanted shapes. I also added a few dabs
and dashes of bright colours, such as royal blue and orange pastels, to
add some small contrasting colours to enhance the painting
