arrangement more than simply a perch.
The lower level includes a game room and
French doors opening to the terrace. Kendall
upholstered the walls in a large checked fabric
to improve the acoustics of the television area.
Stone floors and outdoor fabrics forgive wet feet
and bathing suits, as well as wet dogs.
On the top floor, a den designed for the sons
provides space for them to entertain friends.
“There’s also an exercise room and office on this
level, so their friends can work out and hang
out,” says Kendall.
Another dramatic change was the addition of
a pool house. Wills designed the structure to
mimic the main home’s materials.
From strictly formal to comfortably casual,
and every mood in between, the finished house,
along with the new pool house, seems to suit this
family’s every need. “It’s a place that serves its
wide-ranging purposes with élan,” says Kendall.
