ouis Vuitton Objets
Nomades is a limited-
edition 45-piece collection
of meticulously crafted
travel-inspired pieces that pay homage
to iconic LV designs. Since 2012,
renowned designers have been invited
to imagine innovative functional
furniture and objects for the collection,
and these piece have been crafted by
Louis Vuitton’s artisans.
The exclusive presentation of 10 new
objets, held at Fuorisalone during Milan
Design Week in April, included a new
selection from established Objets
Nomades designers such as Marcel
Wanders, the Campana brothers
Fernando and Humberto, Atelier Oï,
Raw Edges, India Mahdavi and Tokujin
Yoshioka. Two new design studios
contributed “defiantly contemporary”
visions: Alberto Biagetti and Laura
Baldassari of Milan-based Atelier
Biagetti, and Italian duo Giorgia
Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto of
Studio Zanellato/Bortotto.
Atelier Biagetti designed the
Anemona, a glass-topped dining table
with a wavy base covered in beige
leather on the outside and blue Louis
Vuitton lacquer on the inside. And
Zanellato/Bortotto debuted a tripartite
screen of woven leather inspired by
nomadic craftmanship.
“Flora and fauna” was a notable
theme to emerge at Fourisalone
this year, and it permeated the
Objets Nomades presentation.
Considerably more understated than
the Campana Brothers’ tropical-
flower–inspired Bulbo seat was Tokujin
Yoshioka’s Blossom vase, the hero of
this presentation. The curved form of
the sculptural vase – in either clear or
black – creates intricate reflections that
give it a sense of new dimension and
wonder – the very essence of travel.
