Tulsha was a recent high-
school graduate when
she created this colourful
CanBeam installation using
6 800 cooldrink cans for
the Nando’s USA flagship
restaurant after being the
youngest finalist in the 2015
Nando’s Hot Young Designer
Talent Search.
“The budget-friendly
lighting installation is an
upcycled interpretation
of traditional African
beadwork,” says Tulsha.
“It is inspired by the
Rainbow Nation and
suggests the way South
Africans creatively use
waste. It creates a luminous
passage from the entrance,
harmoniously guiding you
into the restaurant and
creating a sense of awe.”
