f you’re a keen gardener, you’ll know
that keeping plants protected is vital
to ensure they have all the TLC they
need. Greenhouses are great for providing
a good growing environment, but there
are many different kinds to choose from,
whether you want to raise seedlings,
grow crops that prefer a warmer climate,
overwinter tender plants, or cultivate those
which need protection all year round. The
best glazing material is glass as it transmits
and holds more light, but if you don’t have
the space or budget available for a full-size
greenhouse, consider an alternative such
as a cold frame, growhouse or polythene
tunnel. We’ve gathered together a few
suggestions to get you started.

Give plants a helping hand

If planting space is at a premium, this
mini greenhouse could be the perfect
solution. It’s made from pressure-
treated timber resulting in a 15-year
guarantee against rot and fungal
damage. With two independently
opening lids and double doors,
you can control airflow and
temperature easily. Inside are two
shelves and the base is the perfect
size for a standard growbag

This elegant design has an
aluminium framework and
4mm toughened glass panels,
making it a hard-wearing
choice. It’s easy to customise
the inside with a range
of optional extras such as
staging and shelving
