the paved road crosses Ravigram

• Khidkhidi – Badgaon – Dhak –
  Tapoban – Reni before reaching Thua
  in Lata.
  Approximately 45-minutes’ steep
  concrete trail appointed with street
  lights connects Thua on the main road
  to Lata village.
  Buses do not ply on this route.
  Shared taxis ply once or twice daily.
  Getting around

  nearby locations excluding Lata village.

Eat

Lata does not have eateries. A small

shop sells a few dry snacks and

groceries.

Sleep / Stay

Shepherd’s Lodge Devagan in Thua,

only accommodation in Lata, is

spacious and clean. The lodge in

an interesting location currently

accommodates 40-50 guests. Spacious

rooms have narrow en-suite bathrooms

without geysers. Devagan supplies one

or two buckets of free hot water on

request.

The in-house restaurant serves simple

food for ₹100 to 150 per person, per

unlimited set meal depending on the

menu. The lodge expects at least a day’s

tariff in advance.

I paid ₹1,700 per room, per night for six

nights, a discount of 32%.

There is no market in Lata.

Mobile Network, Internet,

and STDs

Only Idea and Vodaphone networks

operate in Lata village. Airtel, B.S.N.L.,

and Jio do not serve the area.
