P.T.K.C. - Khattiyar

Taxis

Pathankot Cantonment Railway Station

(P.T.K.C.) - Khattiyar (approximately

60 km in 1:30 hrs.) by a non-shared

taxi: ₹1,900 – 2,500 depending on the

taxi model.

A taxi stand within the three-platform

railway station complex provides taxis

for a high fixed rate. The booking

counter is open from 02:00 am to

05:00 pm. You can directly contact the

taxi driver during non-working hours

(05:00 pm – 02:00 am).

Buses: Option 1

Himachal Road Transport Corporation

(H.R.T.C.) buses ply on Khattiyar –

P.T.K.C. route daily. One bus arrives

in the morning (7:15 am) and two

in the afternoon (2:30 pm and 2:45

pm). Since these buses do not start

from Khattiyar, getting a seat may be

difficult and arrival time may vary.

Buses: Option 2

Take two buses.

First Bus: Board Talwara (Punjab) –

Jasur bus that stops at Khattiyar. It

takes around 45 minutes to reach Jasur

from Khattiyar.

Second Bus: Jasur – P.T.K.C. bus.

A bus plies from Jasur every fifteen

minutes.

Khattiyar - Katrah

Khattiyar village – Katrah (Campong

Hotel) on foot: 3.36 km (Sonata

Pedometer Watch)

The hotel provides free pick-up and

drop from Khattiyar.

Neither public buses nor shared jeeps

run on this unpaved undulating narrow

route.

Katrah - Bhatari

Katrah - Bhatari (18 km in 20-25

minutes) by a non-shared taxi: ₹500.

Khattiyar – Nagrota Surian

Khattiyar – Nagrota Surian (60 km

in 02:00 hrs) by a non-shared taxi:

₹2,000

A direct bus plies between Khattiyar

and Nagrota Surian at 7:15 am daily.

The same bus returns at 2:45 pm.

Khattiyar to Pong Dam

Khattiyar to Pong Dam by bus

(10-minute ride): ₹5 per passenger.

Getting around

Boating for the lake islands

On-foot in Katrah village and to the

banks of the lake.

Shared taxis or local buses for nearby

destinations.

Eat

Like fewer accommodation choices,

number of eateries is also extremely

limited or better to say eateries do not

exist. All the properties mentioned here

serve food from the in-house kitchens.

Meals are expensive. For example,

Campong charges ₹800 for three

unlimited vegetarian set meals per

person, per day.
