Dehradun – Rudraprayag by an ordinary
private bus: ₹235 per passenger
Rudraprayag – Badhani Lake by a non-
shared taxi (Datsun): ₹2,600
The tariff depends on the vehicle model
hired. Taxis can accommodate 4 to 10
passengers. The tariff may go up to ₹4,000
depending on the vehicle.
Gaithan on Badhani Tal route has a
helipad.

Getting around
On foot

Shared and non-shared jeeps and taxis
Buses pick and drop passengers in the
market. The bus stand is mere a parking
lot. Enquiry counter was neither at the
stand nor in the market in April 2019.
Eat
Rudraprayag Town: Dhabas, in-house
restaurants, and sweet shops mainly serve
Indian food.

Along the Driving Route: Mayali has
dhabas. But if there is no parking in the
small transit point, having meals would
be difficult. There were hardly any dhaba
or restaurant along the road beyond the
point. Only one or two mini snack-cum-
grocery-cum-vegetable shacks and tea
stalls sold a small inventory.
Sleep / Stay

Rudraprayag town provides 2-, 3-, and
4-bed rooms for ₹1,250 – 7,400 per night
exclusive of taxes. Eight types of rooms
cater to all classes of the travelers: AC,
deluxe, family, non-AC, premium, super
deluxe, superior, and suites. Many of the
hotels stand on Badrinath Highway, a
brief drive from the heart of the town.

Badhani Tal does not have hotels.
Mobile Network, Internet, and
STDs
Between Surajprayag and Gaithan, the
signals were on and off. Mobile signal
disappeared after Ponthi. The mobile
signal was extremely spotty in Badhani
village and around the lake. Although, a
local visitor was talking over phone at the
