THE HIGH

POINT

In this, the year of another five in-a-row
bid, there’s something satisfying about the
fact that Offaly are motoring again. Their
dominant win over Sligo last time out saw
them reach Round 3 for the first time
in 10 attempts - a fitting testament to the
excellent job John Maughan has done.

THE

LOW POINT

To be fair to Offaly, they haven’t really

had a low point this summer. Written

off after years of drift, little was

expected of them. Yet they had Meath

on the ropes in their first round Leinster

clash and arguably should have won.

Missing out on what would have been a

mighty scalp was tough to take.
