Mohammed
Shami, who has
been in tremen-
dous form in the
ongoing World
Cup, might land
in trouble once
again for his action
on social networking
site. The fast bowler
had hogged all the
limelight following his
feud with his wife
Hasin Jahan. She
accused him of match
fixing, extra-marital
affairs and domestic
violence. The govern-
ing body of Indian
cricket investigated his
case but fortunately for
the bowler he came out
clean. It seems he has a
habit of inviting trou-
ble. He recently mes-
saged a lady who is
stranger to him. His act
was not taken lightly by
the lady named Sophia,
who posted a screen-
shot of the same while
looking confused over
why someone as popu-
lar as Shami keep mes-
saging her.

ON HIS BAN

Despite earning plaudits for his
exploits in 2007 World T20 for India,
Yuvraj Singh could never do justice to
his talent in the IPL. In 132 IPL games,
he made 2,750 runs at an average of
24.77 and strike-rate of 129.71. He
played for as many as six franchises
namely Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI
Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Pune
Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore,
Sunrisers Hyderabad in the cash-rich
league. “I was never settled in whichev-
er franchise I played for. I didn’t really
get settled where you are made to play
for one franchise or maybe two,” Yuvraj
said while receiving the Lifetime
Achievement Award at the 91st annual
general meeting of the Indian
Chambers of Commerce in Kolkata. “I
almost joined KKR but last moment (in
the auctions), I went to RCB. I probably
had my best IPL season with RCB. It
was unfortunate not to come to KKR,”
he recalled.

Yuvraj Singh’s father has a habit of cursing
Dhoni. Time and again, he has blasted the for-
mer Indian captain accusing him of treating
his son in a wrong way during his playing
career. However, he has now turned his atten-
tion to Rayudu’s retirement and the man to
bear the brunt of his anger is none other than
MS Dhoni. Yograj said he was saddened with
Rayudu’s retirement call. He even urged the
right hand batsman to reconsider his decision
and return back to cricket in order to prove
his mettle to the Indian selection committee
by playing in domestic tournaments.
