I had the pleasure of meeting
Kristin several years ago on her
own turf in Brooklyn, New York.
We were both attending an early
evening meet-up of mixed-media
artists, editors, and entrepreneurs.
The room was full of interesting
people, but our fi rst conversation
stood out in my mind. We shared
an interest in exquisite art quilts,
fi ne workmanship, and promoting
all things handmade. That
chance encounter was one of the
highlights of the evening, and I’ve
been following her work and her
business ever since.Recently, I caught up with Kristin
between teaching and exhibiting
engagements at venues such as
International Quilt Festival and
QuiltCon. Here’s an excerpt from
