PRINCE HARRY WENT
APE SUPPORTING
DR GOODALL, HIS
CONSERVATION HERO

P

rince Harry treated
renowned primatologist
Dr Jane Goodall to a
“chimp greeting” when he
attended her Roots & Shoots
conservation event. It involved
patting her head and a big hug!
The pair, who have met several
times, also did a bit of dancing.
Dr Goodall founded the
environmental initiative in Tanzania
in 1991 with 12 high school pupils,
but now students from over 50
countries are involved.
Harry praised Dr Goodall for her
work and her compassion. “She is
a woman of kindness, warmth and a
softness that’s needed by mankind
just as much as it is chimpkind.”
At the meeting, Dr Goodall also
revealed that she had met baby
Archie, describing him as “very
cute and very gentle”. #
